Golfing for FHE

Tony actually invited Daxton and I, along with the girls, to play/watch/annoy him while he golfs. Daxton was in complete awe of his dad. In fact, he wouldn't even ride on my golf cart-he only wanted to ride with Tony! Apparently I am not good enough for him when it comes to the golf course!

The girls go with Tony quite often, but I have really never been with ALL of them! We had a great time and the kids were really good, so maybe he will let us all tag along again sometime!

Science Fair

Kenzie competed in her first science fair, a couple of weeks ago, and did great! She got second place, in 2nd grade. I was very proud of her for all of her hard work and loved how into the whole project she got!

She did an experiment to see what would happen if you left ingredients out of cookies. The first batch, she made normal; the second batch, she left out baking soda; the third batch, she left out eggs; and the forth batch, she left out all of the sugars. It was a fun little experiment. I was even kind of amazed at what leaving one ingredient does. My favorite part of the whole project, was her preparing for the judges. We set up her project downstairs, and then Tony went down there and acted like he was a judge, quizzing her. It was cute. The morning of the science fair, I caught her walking around carrying her notebook, saying "Carbon Dioxide and Protein", over and over again, trying to remember the right words as to why the cookies didn't work without certain ingredients. I am so glad this girl likes science!

Who needs Easter from US when you have Miss Lori?!!!

In 3 girls and 5 preschools, we have NEVER had a Preschool quite as great as Miss Lori's! She is not only an amazing teacher, she also is amazing at celebrating every holiday and theme with these little cuties!

For Easter this year, they had pretty much a whole week and a half of Easter, including an extra preschool day where they went to the old folks home and had an Easter celebration there. These pictures are from the Friday Easter egg hunt. The basket is the stuff that just Miss Lori gave her after the hunt! I really didn't need to do Easter at all for Kamren! She even had lunch at the park for the kids, with buns dyed pink and blue, for sloppy joes, and the biggest bin of plastic eggs for the hunt, that I have ever seen! Anybody looking for a good preschool, this one gets my vote, by far!

Kenzies' Baptism

I have so much that I need to blog about right now, that I don't know if I will ever catch up!!!!

I don't want to miss the precious memories of Kenzies' baptism while I am trying to find the time to catch up! So here are my thoughts for this special day.

It was such a special day for her, one that she had been looking forward to for weeks! It is so fun to watch your child grow up and gain a testimony of something right before your very eyes! I have seen an enormous amount of growth in this child in the past several months. She has gone from the child that kind of just floats through life mainly interested in only TV, to a child that is always asking what she can do to help me and also watching out for her brother and sisters. It has truly been amazing to watch the change in her. She says she has to be good so that the Holy Ghost will always be with her, and I am not about to argue with that one!
I am so proud of her! She truly wanted for herself to be baptized. She is asking questions and paying attention to things that she has never even acted like she cared about before. It was so fun to watch her eyes and smile light up in anticipation for her baptism. She was so excited! I don't think she had planned on the water being quite as cold as it was though! She came out looking more like an ice cube than a little girl! She said she felt warm because of the Holy Ghost but that the water was freezing and she did not want to go in there again! It was so special for her to have so many people there for her and have all of my family come down for it! She is a very loved little girl! I couldn't help but wonder as she stood near the bishop after her conformation, where she would be if we did not adopt her. The very thought of her not having the truthfulness of the gospel, makes me sad. I feel so blessed to be trusted with a little spirit that came to us through a different tummy. I know that we all are chosen to be mommy's to the spirits we are given, but to know that not only Heavenly Father, but also another mommy thought enough of us to trust us with raising her, makes me feel even more of a responsibility to teach her everything I can. I am so grateful for this day, and the reminder it is of how important baptism and the Holy Ghost are in all of our lives.

Note to self.......

Spending time with ONE kid is fun and important! For both of us!

I was lucky enough to get to take Kenzie to her friend, Gretchen's baptism, on Saturday, just the two of us. It was great for her to see, so that she knew what to expect next week, for her own baptism. She asked a lot of questions that I hadn't even thought to talk to her about! After that we went to Ancestor Square and ate at Shroomies. We had an awesome chicken sandwich and Strawberry soup! Yumm! Then we went shopping for a little bit! It is totally amazing how much having just one kid with you changes everything! No yelling, no "stop fighting", no telling them to keep up! We had a lot of fun and some great talks! Kenzie even said it was her best day ever! It was pretty good for me too, Kenz!
