My little darlings need some obesity etiquette!!!

In the last week alone, my Daxton and Kamren have both had pretty big "insert foot in mouth" moments!!! I know that they get this from me, since I seem to do this quite regularly just saying how I feel about something without even thinking!! But still!!!

While at Port of Subs last week, Kamren asked me if a lady there was on the Biggest Loser. When I quietly tried to tell her that was not a nice thing to say to somebody and that No, she was not on that show, she was just a bigger woman. She then proceeded to tell me, "Well, maybe she should be on that show and then she could get smaller"!! Wow! I guess we have some work to do at our house!!

And thats not all for the week...... Yesterday while at Wally World, Daxton asked in a very loud voice, "Mom, is that guy having a baby?"!!!!! Oh My!!! I whispered in his ear that men can't have babies and that it is not nice to talk like that, that the man is just a big man, and he proceeds to then yell,"Mom, why is that man so big?"!!! Yes my children are definitely my children!!!!

Happy Unbirthday!!

Karlin got an UN birthday party, a couple of weeks ago, when she got to pick a ticket from the Good Job Jar! She was very surprised to come home from school to a Birthday banner, cupcakes, and even a present!!! She needed to goggles for swim anyways, so I figures "Why not"!!! It was very fun for her and the other kids!!!

My Selling Machine!!

We all know Tony is quite the salesman, but I think he even surprised himself with this one!! The Chamber of Commerce had a contest to see who could get the most businesses to join in a 4 day period! Anybody who knows Tony, KNOWS that he cannot stand to lose when it comes to showcasing his abilty to sale!!! So he got to work! In fact, I don't think he did anything else the entire week of this competition, besides try and get people to join the Chamber! His hard work paid off ! He ended up signing up 31 new businesses all by himself, with the entire rest of his team only signing up another 12 business all together!!! He received a handful of awards at the awards ceramony, including the Godfather award, the top salesman award, and the biggest cheater award! He also smashed the all time record for sales by one person in the entire nation, which was 26 before Mr Chambers came along!!! Though I knew he had it in him, even I was shocked by his abilities! Now if only I could harness his energy and use it for chores around here!!! Wow would I have a clean house!!

Gooooo Stingrays!!!!

Kenzie decided she wanted to try out for Summer Swim Team, this year. I had some mixed feelings, since she has such a terrible time with Swimmers Ear last year, but we are hoping her putty and Ear band will keep that nasty stuff out of her ear!! She did really good at her time trials! The coach had her swim 50 meters, instead of 25, and decided she was ready for the Bronze team this year. I am so impressed with her stroke and her ability to glide through the water! This girl was born to swim!!!

Karlin also decided she wants to swim this year! I was a little hesitant because I had never seen her swim 25 meters, but she made it, and who am I to tell my kids they can't get exercise!!! It will be good for her to learn from coaches how to work on her technique and stroke!! She will be a fish by the end of the summer, for sure!!

Better luck at the next performance!!! They sang "Good Ship Lollipop", and "When I Grow Up" and did and awesome job!!!

Easter

Easter seemed to be a couple weeks long this year!!! I was happy to see it come and go this year!

Monday night was the Duckie Drop, at the Rec. Center. The kids think this is the greatest, especially when they each got a beach ball with a Dixie Direct logo on it! They thought that was the best, little did they know what their dad paid to have that on there!!! :0)

Kenzie, of course, got the duck with a big Easter basket on it, AGAIN!!! The other girls didn't find that too funny that she got an Easter basket 2 years in a row!

Tuesday, was our Easter Egg Hunt for Daxton's little Joy School friends! He sure is going to miss seeing these kids every week, and so am I!

Thursday night, was the Dixie College Easter Egg hunt! My kids really scored at this one! They had little games for the kids to play before the actual hunt and then a ton of eggs!!!

Saturday, we dyed eggs!!! My least favorite thing, and their favorite, as you can tell by Daxtons hands!!!
I still haven't taken them out to take pictures in their Easter outfits, sigh!!!! But I will!!! And as for the pics for Easter morning, well, I have some but they are really bad!! So, oh well!!! They each got a movie and some very unnecessary chocolate that I am VERY glad is all gone!!!

Happy Easter!!!

Jill

What can I even say about such an amazing woman!!! While I am so deeply sad to see her Earthly life end, I am so comforted by the words of the Prophet yesterday. I know that a lot of people had someone to mourn for yesterday when the Prophet spoke those poignant words about life after death and the Resurrection, but I was so grateful for his words. I felt as if he was trying to comfort each of us that were mourning the loss of our dear friend and reassure us all that we would see her again and that this was not the end for her. How grateful I am for the knowledge the church has given us of death. I cannot image the thought of not ever seeing our loved ones that have passed on again.

I am also so grateful for those last moments that I spent with her a month ago, just after she had returned from her last hospital stay. She spent the whole time comforting me, and telling me that she was completely comforted by the Spirit and whatever happened, it would be okay. I don't know where this woman gets her strength, but it is something that I really would like to emulate in my life. She was always positive, even joking about her plight in life, and NEVER, even when you knew that she was discouraged, let it get her down! As I hugged her for the last time, she told me how much she loved all of us and how we were "hers". I am so grateful for the way she included us in her family, just like we really were "hers". It amazes me that 5 1/2 years ago, when she took Tony and I and our 3 small girls into her home, that we would all get such a meaning relationship out of her act of kindness. The only thing she was to me before we moving in, was my Relief Society President, and yet she became someone that I looked up to immensely for strength and guidance.

How comforted I am by the reunion that I KNOW happened in heaven yesterday! Being reunited with her husband, her granddaughter, her dad, and all the other important people in her life, is such an amazing thought to me! I even pictured her singing with her beautiful voice with the Tabernacle Choir yesterday!

I hope that in someway I will take on her traits, and try harder to make every person feel important like she did! She always had a smile for me, no matter her trials! I know she went out fighting and with immense love for all of us.

Thanks Jill, for being you! My girls and I will always be better people and better readers, for knowing and loving you!!
