I swore I would NEVER.....

.....be the mom that had a kid dressed up in one of THESE cheesy costumes for Halloween! But I will be out there Halloween night, with my son smiling from ear to ear in his Thomas costume! I guess I will do anything for this grin!

Camping-Condo Style!

How did I forget to post about this?!!! We had such a fun weekend with the Black/Mashall family, and the McArthurs. We went to Brianhead and hung out in the condo's for the weekend. THIS is my kind of camping....stove, beds, DVD players, games, fridge! I can't say we roughed it, but we roughed it enough for the kids to get plenty dirty!
Kenzie and Jayden were the head builders of an awesome club house!
As much as I love this little girls hair done, I also think she is adorable with a little bit in her face!
This little boy doesn't yet know how lucky he is that his older sister loves him so much she will carry him almost anywhere piggy back!
After a slow start, these two were inseperable!
Most of the club!
This is the best it gets in the family photo-1 department! Kaylee had something going on! Shocking!
What a good cook, this one is! Even if she did cook pig!
This little adorable thing is cute enough to eat! She loved me! And I was happy to carry her around!
My cute boys!
We went up to the woods to cook some Smores! Yum!
The weekend would not have been a success without DIRT, and we saw plenty of that!

My Sweet Girl

I was woken up this morning, by a little girl trying to whisper in her dads ear. When I asked her to go back to bed, because it was only 7:45 and we have nowhere to be, she went.....but then I heard her crying! I couldn't let that happen! I got out of my warm bed and went to see what was going on! There was my little cutie, dressed shoes and all, crying on her bed. When I asked her why she was crying, she informed me that her dad was taking her somewhere and that he said to wake him up early so that they could go before he needed to work, which he didn't even end up doing today! We went in and woke him up, and they were off! After they left, to I had no idea where, I walked into the kitchen to find a cute little note on the counter.
It says, "From Kamren to Mom. I have gone with dad to the store." Of course spelled like a first grader, but so cute!

She apparently dragged Tony to Target to get me a present! I am not sure what I did to deserve it, but she said it was because she loved me! I am so lucky to get this little girls love! She came home with a pair of earrings for me!

She then informed me that she was going to paint my fingernails, glitter and all! How am I ever going to have the heart to take off her amazing paint job!

Lego Obsession

Kenzie has an obsession! And though it is a good one, at least it isn't TV, it is an expensive one! So when $100 lego sets started popping up on my computer, thanks to my little darling, I had to do something! She decided she wanted to have a lemonade stand. Starting on Labor day, she had a slew of them, at least 5 that I can remember. The result? She got to buy her lego set, and learned to work at the same time. She wasn't always excited about cleaning up after her lemonade stands, but she did learn that sometimes you have to do things several times before you get the thing you are wanting. I am kind of scared that the next set she wants is much, much more! I think she has a plan for selling Dixie Directs when they come out late next month!

Her signs says "You can't golf without a drink"! So funny!

Even a celebrity stopped by, Daron Williams from the Utah Jazz! None of us girls were impressed, but their dad was!
Some of her creations! We need to work on spelling a little! :0)
Love the cash register....
And the port-o-potty....

And this sweet, sweet girl!

Goalie

Apparently being the goalie on Saturday, was pretty uneventful!!! Not a lot going on, just standing down there, stuck in her thoughts and practicing her dance moves!

Blowing at....something!
Umm....I think she is even facing the wrong way in this one!
Dance, dance fever?!!
Maybe a bug in her ear?!!

I was amused, and wanted her to be the goalie the whole time because I was having fun taking pictures! Her dad on the other hand, wanted her to pay attention and get in the game!!! My way is more fun!

One year older and wiser too.....

......Happy birthday to you!!! This Primary song was what I thought of as I was thinking of Rylan, today. I don't think it is her that is getting "wiser" as the years go by without her on this Earth. I am in awe each year, at the amount of growth that goes on in our family. I am so grateful that I have taken the opportunity the last few years to write down my feelings about her birthday. Each year, I am reminded again and again of Eternity, and my testimony is strengthened as I gain more and more perspective as to how trials and loss really affect us. This year is no different. Except this year, we also had another loss. Though Jill(Mrs. Foy), was not technically IN our family, we were close to her and her death has profoundly affected my family and I. I have had a really hard time with the "why". With Rylan's death, there was some sort of peace in her going. Peace in the fact that she didn't have to be limited anymore. Peace in the fact that she would have her sight and be able to walk and be able to sing and talk and DO! Do all the things that here, on this Earth, were so hard and pretty much impossible for her. We have completely felt, on many different levels, that she fulfilled her mission on this Earth. She did what she needed to do, got her body, helped her dad to join the church, and returned to her Eternal home. With Jill, I feel a little different. I watched her be vibrant, and loving, and caring, and contributing so much to the daily lives of so many adults and children. And though Rylan contributed a lot to our home, I still can understand that her earthly journey was over. I know someday that all of the loss and deaths that we all go through, will someday make sense. Though I don't understand Jills death, I know I will. I know that there is a reason, and that ALL of Heavenly Fathers plan is just that, a plan! A plan greater than anything we could ever even fathom or comprehend. I gain some solice in the fact that I know both of them are just as loved in Heaven as they were here, and that they are contributing greatly to the work that needs to be done.

My faith in our Heavenly Fathers plan grows each year. As I watch friends and family be tested and tried, I gain a greater testimony of that fact that our trials really are for a greater purpose. We are not just sent here to be born and die. We are sent here to live and prove that we are worthy and willing to do whatever it takes to return to Him and to all of our loved ones that pass before us. I feel blessed to have such a strong testimony of trials. I know that living through something like a child dying is something that has given me strength. I know that I can help others as they are tried, to continue on. That life does go on, that time does continue, and that our trials are not to punish us. Though in the moment, it is so hard to watch others wonder how they will go on, I feel strength in the fact that I can testify that you will live again, and be happy. There have been several times in my life, that I really wished I could take on some of the trial that I have watched other go through. Death in other peoples families makes me kind of relive the hard moments of remembering Rylan dying. It also makes me realize how far I have come. Trials are us being tried....they are our test to prove worthy.....they are what make us stronger....they are what make us who we are, and also what prepares us for what we ultimately want out of our existence-Eternal life with our families and loved ones.

I am so grateful for how far we have all come. We are blessed with beautiful children who are faithful, and bless our lives, and teach us more about the gospel than we could ever teach them. I feel so blessed to know that Rylan's contribution to her dads conversion, has been profound. He amazes me with his testimony, and it is growing all the time. I feel so blessed to have him being such a vital part of our ward and family. Early on in our marriage, I would have never even imagined that he would be the Priesthood holder that he has become. I know Rylan has had a lot to do with his transformation. Though he doesn't talk about her often, I know that she impacts him just as she impacts me. We are striving for all of our children to be blessed with the blessing of the Celestial Kingdom that Rylan has already attained. It is amazing how as your children start to get older, that you would honestly and fully take their being worthy members of the church over anything else this life has to offer. I pray daily for their success and for their little testimonies to grow and flourish. I am so excited for that day when we can finally stand as a family in front of our Heavenly Father and be invited into the Celestial Kingdom with Rylan. How great will my joy be to see that day come. I know that the things we are doing now to prepare for that day are very important. The scripture study, and the family prayers, and Family Home Evening, and Family Council, and all the other things ARE the way to keep our family close and headed in the right direction. I am so grateful for the extra push she gives us to strive for Eternity.

Today, I am grateful for this gospel. We are so blessed to have the fullness of it and be lucky enough to live when such amazing things are going on. I am so grateful for the enlightenment I seem to receive more of every year. I look at the last 14 years of my life, and think "Holy Cow, did all of this really happen to me and my family?!" Sometimes I honestly feel like it happened to somebody else and that it was somebody else's trial, that somebody else lost a child so many years ago. When I look back at pictures of Tony and I with Rylan, I am shocked by how little and young we looked at how big she was! I look at 20 year olds that I know and think, "How did I do that?!" But I did, and I am what I am because of it! We are blessed, we are happy, and I feel lucky to be the mom of an amazing Celestial little lady!

Happy Birthday, Rylan!

Why is this tweenager of mine looking so old?!!!!
Tony and I were picturing us taking 40+ balloons to her grave someday! :) For this year, it was 14!
I love that even daddy doesn't even question these traditions of ours every year!
The sun was NOT cooperative, this year!

Gratitude

After Sunday Conference, we started an "Attitude for Gratitude" journal to keep a list of all the things we are grateful for. Every morning, after scriptures, we go around the table and ask what everybody is grateful for and write it down. I am amazed how in my own life, it has made me more aware of all of the amazing things I am personally blessed with.

So today, when I have nowhere to be, no pictures of "seasoned" citizens to take at the Senior Games, and nothing really pressing to do in my life, I am just grateful!!! Grateful to be able to clean my house, and stay in my pajamas with my hair in a ponytail, wondering how in the world my mom worked full time and kept us feed and our home not looking like a bomb dropped!

Grateful for all of the fall decorations surrounding me in my home, and the smell of Cinnamon Bear Scentsy surrounding me
Grateful to have a moment to use all of the ripe bananas to make banana bread muffins for my girlies for when they get home from school-chocolate chip ones for Kenzie, and regular for the rest of the kids.
Grateful to hear all about trains from my little man, and for the chance to turn an empty Ziploc bag box into a tunnel for his train, and get to watch his eyes light up as his train goes through it.

Just Grateful!

Daxton funnies

Daxton has been cracking me up lately with the things he says and I know in a month or two I will have completely forgotten about them. I am going to write them down so that doesn't happen!!

He was close by my side all day yesterday, thanks to all the rain, thunder and lightening. He wouldn't even eat lunch without me sitting right next to him. After a really loud rumbling of thunder, he turned to me and said," Jesus' power is really freaking me out!" I laughed for a long time about this one.

He also has some weird idea about the port-a-potty at the soccer fields! Their was a line at the potties, a few people deep, so I told him that he should just go pee in the bushes, because he was a boy and I didn't want to wait. Well, all week he has asked me why there were lions in the potties at the soccer field?!!! I have tried numerous times to explain to him that there was a line at the soccer fields, not a lion, but it is not sinking in! I am guessing he won't be going anywhere near those potties any time soon!

He has made up an imaginary uncle, he calls Uncle Jessin. He tells me all about Uncle Jessin-how he loves trains, how he is going to come and stay with us from Heaven soon, but that he is not going to live with us forever, how he loves to play with him, that he has 5 Thomas trains, and on and on. Apparently we have a favorite Uncle out there that none of us have ever met.

Funny, funny boy! I am so glad I get to be his mommy!
